Seatrucks: Today or Tomorrow

They were laying side by side on the bed, looking up at the ceiling as if it was the night sky with bodies pressed together.

"I'm glad I have you, even if it's just for today or tomorrow," she whispered, words scratching across dry lips.

There was a brief moment of silence and her pulse thudded against her wrists in fear.

"I'll keep you as long as I can," he whispered back, finally, and his arms held her closer and tighter.

I hope you never let go, she said quietly.
